About Donna
I am a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator, a Certified Positive Discipline Classroom Educator and a Positive Discipline Trainer Candidate in San Diego, CA. I was introduced to Positive Discipline while participating in "Mommy and Me" preschool classes with my daughters, Elise and Lauren (now 27 and 25).

In addition to utilizing Positive Discipline (PD) in our home, I was a school administrator at a K-8 charter school that implemented PD campus wide. For over 11 years, I saw the difference that PD made in the lives of the students and their caregivers.

In addition to my Positive Discipline training and experience, I have a Master of Science in Child Development, with an emphasis on Early Childhood Mental Health, and I am a registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) in the state of California.

My work is based on attachment theory (that the earliest bonds formed by children with their caregiver have a tremendous impact that continues throughout life). Research has found that children who are securely attached as infants tend to develop stronger self-esteem and better self-reliance as they grow older. These children also tend to be more independent, perform better in school, and have successful social relationships. Securely attached children raised with Positive Discipline is a win-win for our society!
It is true that the season of raising children passes too quickly, although it may not feel like it when you are in the trenches of getting kids ready for school, bedtime hassles, and sibling rivalries!
Enjoy the time with your children and love them for who they are. Embrace their strengths and celebrate how special and unique each one is. I hope your eyes light up when they walk in the room or when you mention their name.
